Disney Lorcana Inks - Colour Guide

Disney Lorcana Inks - Colour Guide

Disney Lorcana has created quite a buzz recently in the world of TCGs, and with The First Chapter decks now available to pre-order, we wanted to briefly explain the main colours and themes of the game. While other TCGs have their own faction systems - types in Pokemon, colour identity in MTG, etc - Lorcana has ‘inks’.

So, what do inks mean rule wise? And what do they have to do with the main story of Lorcana? Let's summarise it!

What Are Inks?

In Disney Lorcana, players become ‘illumineers’ who have access to six magical ‘inks’ that they use to summon ‘glimmers’ of Disney characters and objects. These sorcerers use a tool called the Inkcaster to create these glimmers and each type of magical ink imbues the glimmers with different qualities, themes, roles and abilities.

It's important to note that no ink is inherently good or evil, and both heroes and villains can be found in all six inks. As players explore the world of Lorcana and encounter different characters, they will have to make strategic choices about which inks to use in order to summon the most powerful and effective glimmers. It is important to note that you can have up to two different types of ink per deck, creating a lot of possibilities for your card choices. With so many possibilities and combinations to choose from, players can expect a rich and immersive gameplay experience in Disney Lorcana TCG.

Note: If you are confused about any of the above terminology or want to know more about the rules, be sure to also check out our guide on ‘How To Play Disney Lorcana’, as we’ve included a helpful keyword glossary.
